  Harmonized analytical method for control of all phytase sources currently authorized in EU - 2008-12-12
    Under the FEFANA umbrella, phytase experts in collaboration with the Community Reference Laboratory for feed additives, operated by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre in Geel, Belgium (CRL) have worked on the establishment of a common analytical method for all phytase sources for several years. The harmonized method which has been developed is a tool to quantify phytase products in feed samples.
  FEFANA breaks through the 100th member barrier - 2008-11-06
    FEFANA, the EU Association of Feed Additives and Premixtures, has continued to go from strength to strength and has just broken through the 100th member barrier. This is another important milestone for the Association after a reorganisation which took place four years ago.
  Launch of one new consortium on antioxidants established by FEFANA - 2008-10-24
    One new consortium to support the industry in obtaining EU authorisation for antioxidants existing under the Feed Additives Regulation 1831/2003 has recently been established by the European Feed Additives and Premixtures Association (FEFANA). This consortium is indeed focusing on antioxidants classified in the technological additives category determined in Annex I of the 1831/2003 legislation and has been named ANTOXIAC.

  FEFANA, key contributor in regulatory affairs for the Feed Additive and Premixture Industry, welcomed former EU Commissioner Dr. David Byrne at its recent AGM - 2008-06-12
    On the occasion of the General Assembly of Members of FEFANA, a very informative open morning session was organized for members and guests, including representatives of fellow associations. FEFANA welcomed keynote speaker Dr. David Byrne, EU Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection from 1999 to 2004, who made an interesting and stimulating presentation to an enthusiastic audience, including many of the 92 current FEFANA Members as well as representatives from the EC. During the AGM, two new FEFANA Board Members were elected and introduced.
  Commission publishes the guidelines on detailed rules for the implementation of Regulation 1831 on Feed Additives: all tools are now available for the authorization process - 2008-05-22
    FEFANA welcomes the publication in the EU Official Journal of the eagerly awaited guidelines for the preparation and assessment of feed additives dossiers. This document is seen as a pivotal tool for the transparency of the assessment process that leads to the authorisation of feed additives, including the re-authorisation of the existing products.

    FEFANA announces the release of a set of regulatory tools: the FEFANA Guidance documents. They provide operational interpretation of the new Feed Additive Guidelines and help applicants building regulatory dossiers for existing and new additives.
  Launch of three new consortia by FEFANA, for Acids, Silage Additives and Trace Elements - 2008-04-07
    FEFANA has recently established three new consortia in order to support the industry efforts in obtaining EU authorisation for existing additives under the Feed Additives legislation 1831/2003. These new consortia concern acids, silage additives and trace elements.
