  FEFANA, key contributor in regulatory affairs for the Feed Additive and Premixture Industry, welcomed former EU Commissioner Dr. David Byrne at its recent AGM - 2008-06-12
    On the occasion of the General Assembly of Members of FEFANA, a very informative open morning session was organized for members and guests, including representatives of fellow associations. FEFANA welcomed keynote speaker Dr. David Byrne, EU Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection from 1999 to 2004, who made an interesting and stimulating presentation to an enthusiastic audience, including many of the 92 current FEFANA Members as well as representatives from the EC. During the AGM, two new FEFANA Board Members were elected and introduced.

    FEFANA welcomes the publication in the EU Official Journal of the eagerly awaited guidelines for the preparation and assessment of feed additives dossiers. This document is seen as a pivotal tool for the transparency of the assessment process that leads to the authorisation of feed additives, including the re-authorisation of the existing products.
